Christmas carol or song inspired card (from the title)

Morning and hello! How are you? It's Friday again and I have been working my first week since the vacation. I am really tired now that's for sure. Not only that it has been my first week back work training, my youngest has also had surgery. Lot more energy went too that than I thought. It was done Tuesday and he is still feeling a bit blurry, just like his mum at the moment. LoL

We have a new challenge up for you today over at the Winter Wonderland and this time we want you to be inspired by a Christmas song/carol's title. Like "Santa Claus is coming to town", "Let it Snow" etc. I went with "Let it snow" myself as I really find these challenges hard. Being inspired by something: a song, a picture, colours. I don't know why. It just is like that. Maybe I could have gone with "Frosty the snowman" as well.

Anyway, my picture is a bit strange again. I have a new fancy camera and I have not had the time to learn how to make all the programming to it yet. So it's a bit strange in colours. I couldn't get the white balance to work. Too many buttons to work out how to use and I have missplaced the instructions. I will learn, just wait and see.

Both part of the team is taking part in this challenge (it's four weeks long) and we have a long list of sponsors for the challenge as well. It's our summer break challenge and it will last most of August so plenty of time for you all to create some great Christmas card that you know you will be needing really soon. LoL

The image I have used is from the Paper Shelter and one of my favourite winter images. For some reason I have a big love for snowmen. They always look so jolly. :) I have paired him up with some of my favourite Christmas/winter designer papers as well from Dovecraft. Have to add the name to that later on. The sketch used is from the latest challenge over at Papertake weekly. Always great sketches.

As for now I need to go to bed. It's 02:30 in the morning here and as I got stuck watching some episodes of Rizzoli and Isles that I had recording being away. Love the show just had the chance to watch them. With both kids and partner home there isn't much "me-time" at the moment. Three more weeks and then they are back to work and school again.

How charming!

Good afternoon and hello once again this week! Busy one! Hope you're having a lovely week and have something fun planned this weekend. For me it's hopefully a relaxing one and then back to work practise on Monday.

Had a little break down here during the morning and that's why I am late with this post.Tuesday it's surgery time for my youngest. Not a big thing but he is getting nervous and it kind of gets stuck on the rest of us as well. Took some time to calm him down and get him to thing about something else. Nothing that good friends and some hugs from your family can't help even if it takes some time. It's the first time that he will have a real blood test done and a "needle" to help with the drugs during surgery. He wasn't aware of this things when his first surgery was done when he was just 2,5 months old. But this one has nothing to do with this and for that I am grateful.

Today it's time for a new challenge over at Winter Wonderland and the theme of the week is "How charming" (Use a charm). Nice and easy. I love this theme!

We're sponsored by Michele R Designs and I have used the lovely designer papers called Winter frost. They are stunning, all of them. As I spent most of yesterday trying to fix up my crafting room / office, I wasn't in the mood to colour anything in so I have just used the sentiment on the card.

On the card have I used some lace and of course the charm as decorations. Some flowers as well and a handmade ribbon out of the designer papers. It comes with the pack and is very easy to use. Pearls in the corners and that's it.

Anything goes + a sentiment

Morning and hello to you all! Another post this week which seems to be very busy here. LoL Lots of challenges and also a DT-call. It's already time for the second week of our latest challenge over at AUD sentiments and this time we have "Antything goes" as a theme and of course you have to have a sentiment on your creation as well. After all the challenge blog is called AUD sentiments. ;)

And before I forget, there is also a DT-call going on. So if you fancy working with sponsor images and being active on a team, this is the place for you. Of course you need to use sentiments on all your creations as well. That is something I have learned from my year on this team. Pop on over to the challenge blog and you find all the info you need to enter the call.

Our sponsor for this challenge is Scrapper's delight and here is some info about them.

Our teammates are using images provided by Scrapper's Delight who is pairing up with us to sponsor this challenge.  They are also generously offering a prize for the winner of this challenge!!  If you see an image you like, or if you want to shop around in their catalog of images, you can click on their name to go directly to their shop.

For my card have I used the Birthday honey image. Coloured with Letraset markers and once again gone back to my favourite DP's from LOTV. Left overs used from the Pastel dream and Up and away pads. I am starting to feel like an old record that keeps playing the same song over and over again. LoL

I have also used some knick knacks laying around well everywhere in the house to finish of the card with a flower garden. A doily in the back ground, some twine from Panduro, an old charm that I found laying in my glue box, a little piece of a pearl string that I wrapped around the brightest coloured flower to tone it down a bit. In the corners I used some gemstones that was something of the first stuff I bought when I started my card making journey. They are still around even if I have used tons of them.

Ok my friends, this is all from me for today. Hope to see you around and that you come and play with us. Also if you fancy being on a lovely DT-team, you should try out in the DT-call. Give it ago. You never know when you are the right crafter for a team if you don't try out for it, right?

Anything goes

Hello and good evening! A tiny bit late as I thought I had this post prepared. I had not, but here I am now and ready to tell you about my card and our "anything goes" challenge over at the Paper Shelter.  Got back home late last night but here I am again. :)

It's time for our summer break challenge so you get an easy challenge with a maximum of three entries per crafter and one of them have to have any TPS product on it. Nice and easy because by now I am pretty sure everyone own at least one of these fabby digital images. Right? As always we have our $30 gift voucher up for grabs if you use a TPS image and are picked as a winner by Mr Random. Three digis of your choice is yours if you are the winner and are playing with another brand. Both parts of our big TPS team is taking part in this challenge so there is plenty of inspiration for you. The challenge is on going for two weeks as well so plenty of time to enter. However, as it is our holiday break there will be no comments this challenge. I pretty sure you are fine with us having a little break to spend with our family and friends?

That is just what I have done and why I am late posting this. I have spent a week in Alcudia, Mallorca with my family and that was so nice. Maybe I am not the biggest fan of Port de Alcudia, but I loved the heat once I got used to it and it was great to have no musts to hang over me. Lots of e-books have gotten read both by me and the kids. Swimming bothe in the sean and the pool which the kids liked more, the wasn't too impressed by the salty water.

We vistied a village in the mountains called Valldemossa where Chopin lived for a winter with his misstress, and the people living there now have made that happening their livelihood. This was in the 1800 something so they are really working an old happening. LoL But it was nice to see and I enjoyed the trip that also took us to a village by the sea called Soller. For the visit in the mountain the guide said:

-Bring a sweater it can be cold said the guide. Since when is 29 degrees celsius cold? Here in Kalmar we're happy if the temperature reaches 20 degrees celsius this summer. Oh, it was a good week and now I only have a few more days off then it's time to go back to my work training for one more month. There is also a surgery to get throw next week for my youngest kid so it was nice to be able to relax a bit before that as well.

Ok then, my card. I have used one of the most smashing images in my mind from this year's collection from the Paper Shelter. It's called The Rebel and it's so fun to colour, that I really urge you to get the image and start colouring right away. It makes the perfect card for a teen ager. I printed the image fairly big this time and kept my design very simple. I found some old Magnolia designer papers in my stash sorting it out while I am fixing my craft room. Still a tiny bit to go, all the bits and bobs you don't know where to put you know? Anyway, clean and simple card with a pink designer paper to my black and blue image. Nuts? Well, I don't think so as there is tiny pink details in the image. I have use many layers on this card and the image is raised up on foam dots as well, just to add a little more interest to the card even if it's a simple one. Lots of time put into the colouring instead. Some black pearls from Bunny Zoe's is the only thing used for decorations together with all the layers of card stock in white, black and pink.

Anyway, I hope you like it and come and play with us over at the Paper Shelter where you find plenty of more inspiration from the rest of the design team.

Love n hugs
Marie

Flowers

Morning and hello! How are you doing? Good I hope! It's tuesday and time for a new challenge over at Passion for Promarkers. This weeks theme is set to "Flowers". So we want to see flowers in any kind on your creation. I have used an image with my favourite flower that is poppies. I am sorry but I don't remember from where I have gotten this image as I have had it coloured for quite some time now.

I have paired the image up with some black and white dp's from Slöjddetaljer here in Sweden. I used some dark red card stock to match up the flower and make the card pop. A piece of lace and a few paper flowers was also added to the mix as well as a piece of corrugated paper. A bit of frosted lace glitter glue from Rangers adds the final details together with some darkred pearls.

This week we're sponsored by Digi stamp boutique that will give our winner a gift voucher worth £10. How nice isn't that?

Well, short and sweet today. Trying to enjoy the final days of my two weeks off from the work practise. First time in three years that I am off for this long. Really nice!

Use some circles

Morning and hello! Hope you're enjoying your week and that the sun is shining on you. When I write this we have a little rain and the air is really fresh. Love that but it would be nice with a little sun as well.

This week's theme over at the Paper Shelter is set to "Use some circles" and that sounded like a nice and easy one when I set the theme. Well, when I should make something with it, it wasn't that easy. But don't be put off by that. The only thing you need to think of is to use real circles, like doilies, buttons, circle die cuts / punches. I have a bunch of old images laying around that I have coloured quite a while ago and I don't want to throw them out, so this week I have used one of those images.

It's called Christmas Carols. And this time we're doing pink christmas. I have used an old paper pad that I no longer have the front to so I don't know the brand of them. It's a big fat pile of papers in it and it's going to last me a life time I think.

I have been using quite a lot of left overs for this creation in the form of die cuts, buttons from clothes, small piece of ribbon, swirls, die cutted some silver circles, grounded the snow flakes with round shapes so there is a little more silver glitter to them for extra sparkle. Some pink gem stones finish the snowy swirl in the bottom off.

As always when you play with us over at the Paper Shelter we have a gift voucher worth $30 up for grabs if you use any TPS product. Playing with another brand gives you the chance of winning three digis of your choice.

Ok then, that's all for today. Enjoy your week and I see you back here on Tuesday.

Have a beary Christmas

Morning and hello to you all. Hope you're having a good Friday so far. I have a new card to show off today, well I will be having a card to show off later on today. It has been so much lately and I mixed up the challenges over at Winter Wonderland where the theme is Have a beary Christmas. That means we want to see a bear or two on your creations this week. Should be nice and easy. Now when I have the right theme in mind. The good thing is that I have already made my card for the next challenge. LoL

Ok, this took a bit longer than planned. Had to go to the ER with the youngest again. Another head bang. He looks like he has been in a big fight by now but at least there is no major damage. Can't believe how much that happens around here at the moment. Guess that is what they call life and we have been really lucky earlier. Very few visits to the doc with wounds and "head in the ground falls" and stuff like that. I am totally drained from this. It's so boring to just sit and wait with nothing to do and the kid saying. How much longer? I feel fine and then over and over again. And you hear that it get more strange each time because he's getting tired and is a bit dizzy. And on top of it you know you have to stay for a few more hours just to be safe and sure that it's nothing serious.

So my card finally. Found a stamp with a little bear on it and coloured with Distress markers this time. No mood for the alco markers this time. Then raided the stash and found a bunch of old Magnolia dps and used up a few of those. Used a die that I bought from Joanna Sheen a while back and then added a few gem stones to that. Nice and easy. A glitter board is also used to add a little sparkle, after all it is a Christmas card.

This week we're sponsored by the Crafty Sentiments Design who is offering one lucky winner a lovely price in the form of a voucher.

Crafty Sentiments Designs

Ok, then. This is all for today, at least almost. We have had babies! The whole garden is filled with hedgehoges. 6 little kids living under our porch. Unfortunately, their mummy have been killed so we do what we can to help them out and give them a greater chance of surviving their first weeks. Making sure there is water, watering the grass when needed. Letting the grass grow longer around the walls so they have somewhere to hide and to hunt. We also give them some cat food, egg and pancakes to keep them happy. Want them to stay for as long as possible as they mean good luck. There must be tons of luck with 6 hedgies around, doesn't i? :)

Animal + sentiment

I am back again, second time this week. And yet again it have been a busy one. I have a little break from my worktraining the coming two week, first time in three years that I will have a vacation and not have to study during the summer or go to meetings or whatever the employment office wants me to do. Feels great! Hope that it won't be as hot as it was last week and not as cold and windy as it is this week. :)

It would be nice to be able to sit outside and do some colouring and card making. Maybe even some stitching.

It's Thursday again and we have second week reminder over at AUD sentiments up today and or theme is Animals + a sentiment. It's in our name you know. :) So use an animal on your creation and then add a sentiment and you will be good. Sponsoring this week is Imagine that! Three digi sets is up for grabs. One lucky winner! And of couse our top picks!

For my card have I use an image called Sweet Deer. A cute image that is nice and easy to colour. I have paired the image up with a lovely bunch of dps from Dove craft. Craft Christmas or something like that I believe that name is. A fairly simple card which I made up using the newest sketch from Paper take weekly which is my resque place to go when I can't think about nothing to do. Thanks for that!

I have used some pearls, a MS punch, letter stickers, ribbon and a white rose to decorate the card. Nice and simple. It doesn't have to be so much every time but now I start to long to make a card that is filled with details and colours and well just rock on, if you know what I mean? But that have to wait until that office space is ready. Just "some" final stuff to go and I am ready, but I need to do some painting first and that puts me off a bit. Needed more shelfs than I thought from the beginning and besides that I have the whole floor filled with stuff and I don't know where to start at the moment. Probably by carry everthing that is on the floor out from the room again. LoL

Anyway, take care and all the best for now.

Fancy that!

Morning and hello! Time for a new challenge over at Passion for Promarkers. This week's theme comes from Eileen and she has picked the theme of "Fancy that". That means you should add lace, ribbon, sparkle, gems, pearls and so on and make something extra special. The girls have done some smashing work, so do pop on over and check it out.

I have altered a notebook for this challenge, well I have made 3 of them to be exact but I will only show one here for this challenge. I might need the others for another challenge. LoL The image is from Power Poppy and is called Flowering branches. I love this image and I thought it was perfect for my olderst kids' teachers so they got a note book each when the term ended a few weeks ago. The class have had a writing theme this year so it was a sure thing to make a note book a bit more hip for them. :)

I have not used that many decorations on this book as it's hard to write in it then and I want them to be used. I keept with lace and on this one I also used a dark red ribbon. It's actually in the same shade as the card stock but it shows badly here. I used a MS punch for the border part and a few die cuts to build up a little more layers and interest. For an extra special greeting I used a pearl heart up in the right corner. W is very fond of his teachers. The ribbon is from Panduro and the lace and the heart is from WOC. The dies used is from Spellbinders. Note book is bought from TGR here in Sweden. Letter stickers is from Panduro as well.

I have decorated the inside as well but decided not to show that as it has a personal greeting written there from my son and I promissed that no one would see, so...

Sponsoring this challenge is Letraset and Little Claire Designs as well. So we have two winners this time.

Stamp set called Lovely hedgehogs

Web

6-pack of markers (rich tones)

Ok, this should be it then. I will add the Little Claire winnings when I know what it is.

This is all from me for today. I look forward to see what you will come up with for this challenge.

For the boys

Hello and hi from a sunny Sweden. Totally hot today and even if it's early night when I write this it's still quite warm. I am late with my post as usually nowdays. My hubby is working tons before going on vacation and I am walking my way from soccer practise to work practise. Tired like crazy after the amazing game last night when Sweden beat Portugal in the European Champion ships of soccer for players up to 21. Penalty kicks and Sweden had the most amazing goalie. Smashing! I have loved watching this team play, Olympic games in Rio here we come!

Ok, then my card. I have used the most smashing image called Viking vacation for my card this week. I so love this image! It's fun and sweet even if he looks more like a Roman warrior to be than a viking. Here in Sweden we portrait them with helmets with horn on them most of the time. But still, the image is amazing and great fun to colour! Give it a try!

I have keep the card colourful and happy as the viking looks very happy in his big shades. Designer papers are from Echo park and I have used some dies as back drops for the card.

Now, I am still  (or again I might say) having trouble up loading images here after they have dug off some wire or what it's called for the new internet connection that they are working on around here, but at least it seams like I am able to post this. At least the first part worked out. Let's hope this part comes along too.

As always when the Paper Shelter has a new challenge up, you have the chance of winning a gift voucher worth $30. Playing with another brand gives you the chance of winning three digis of your choice.

Until next time, keep cool and enjoy a little bit of sunshine!

Love n hugs

Marie
