Embossing of any kind

Morning everyone. Hope you have had a great week and are able to enjoy all the little flowers that starts to bloom right now. The tulips are starting to show up and I love those. When they bloom spring is here. :)

It has been a hard week with lots of colds going around the house. Thought I was out of it when it started again late on Sunday, so yet another day with fever and running nose. Might have used more energy than I got and that's why it's breaking out a second time in four days. Just have to "like" it I guess.

Today starts a new challenge over at PFP and the theme set for this week is embossing of any kind, dry or wet that is. This was a really hard card to finish, not because I don't like the them, but because I had to redo it three times. My first brilliant idea with wet embossed pieces in black and white to build a soccer ball didn't work out. It looked fabb and lovely till the pieces started to pop off my card. The glue didn't like the mix of plastic feeling and paper. LoL Oh well, I will give that a go again when I have a little more time.

So instead of a soccer ball shaped card I ended up with this. Now it might look strange with a "6" and a winning soccer champion but the boy who it was for turned 6 the other day. The image is from the Paper Shelter and is of course coloured with my Letraset markers. The dp's are from Magnolia and the star punches use is from Wood ware. The grass is made with a die from CC designs I think.

It might be hard to spot the embossing but the dark green edge is embossed with a spotty pattern and since it is a winner I am showing off, I did some wet gold embossing around my circle / ball.

Sponsoring us this week is Polkadoodles, but I don't know what the prize is so you have to go and check out the challenge blog to find out. I am sure it's a great prize!

And as I have fairly little time at the moment I also take the chance to promote the World Cup challenge that TPS has on facebook. It will last all the way to the end of the World Cup this summer when we know which country is the best the world when it comes to this fun game! Can you guess my winner? Yepp! Even if they hardly didn't make it to the WC, I think France will stand as winners when it's over. You know we can't all believe that Brasil or Agentina will win. LoL

Ok, signing off for now and hope you'll join us over at PFP this week.

Love n hugs
Marie

Five or more flowers to your creation

Morning everyone. How are you? Hope everything is fine and you are in a great mood. I'm at home with a sick kid and have started to feel the cold he has as well. Life is great! When my pain is less, there is a cold knocking on the door and that often leads to new pain in the joints...Life is fun! LoL

Well my friends today it's Wednesday again and we have a new challenge up for you over at the Paper Shelter. This weeks theme is Five or more flowers, optional to add a sentiment as well. (Not counting any on your dp's or image). They have to be added to the creation some how. Well I got carried away watching a gardening show on TV and that was not the smartest thing I have done, at least not a flower themed card and a gardening show at the same time. I ended up with a little tooooo much. LoL But no time or energy to remake this one so here we are.

Anyway, here it is. My creation of the week. I have used some old dp's from a Prima pad that I cleaned away before I wrote this. I think it's from the Madeleine pad. As seen I have used tons of flowers from WOC, I am Roses and Prima on this card. Also quite a lot of stickles, pearl string and clay swirl that I made with MS clay. My lace is once again from the lovely Gail. Yes, I know, colours of fall, but I happen to love the fall so deep oranges and brow it is. LoL The lovely brown pearls and the tag die is from my dear friend Annelie and the text sentiment is from Bildmålarna. They are perfect in size. I don't like big blurry sentiment stamps so these tiny ones are the bestest!

As always we have a 30 $ voucher up for grabs if you play with a TPS product. Playing with another brand gives you the chance of winning 3 digis of your choice. There was some really stunning TPS cards entered to our last Fairy challenge. Great joy to see them!

On top of this is another challenge going on, Veronica and the Papers Shelters World Cup challenge. Buy the they soccer image and colour him in the colours your winning team has. Who do you thing will stand as a winner when the WC is over. I have a card on the go for this, but have a bit left before it's finished. I will show it when I am done with it...

Another little reminder. There is still a day left of our DT-call over at the Paper Shelter. Ending tomorrow 23:55. Nothing has been decided yet so there is still a chance of getting picked to the team. The new members will be reveled on Sunday hopefully.

Butterfly kisses

Morning and welcome back to a new slow week here at my blog. The time is so limited at the moment and I am happy each time I manage to get a card done. On top of that I have turned my crafting room up side down and is trying to get a better use of this small room. That means new shelfing in the closets. and since I have to make them on my own, it take so much more time. I can't do very much as I have (always as it seems) nowdays pain in my left shoulder and neck. At least it is a little better since I got the injection a few weeks ago.

Ever since I was a kid I have loved pens, paper, colouring mediums and all things in between that. And I still do enjoy it alot. Which means I have so many different kind colouring mediums that a few gets forgotten. Like my Aquamarkers from Letraset for example. I was sitting the other day trying them and see if they had dried out on me and if they had not decided if I should keep them or not. Only one had dried out and since it was quite nice playing with them, they are staying. And since I felt that I didn't want to throw away all of that expensive paper I for some reason used to try the markers on, I decided to use the scribble scrabble for my card today.

Now, it is a really simple card and totally different from all my cute images that I use almost all the time, I am not sure what I think of this card. At least i think it's a card for a grown up. LoL A really good thing about is that I use only left overs too. I should do that more often.

Anyway, I took my very colourful water colour paper and used one of my butterfly dies and made the base layer with it, and then cut some more butterflies with the matching detailing die. I used a few die cut circles as a back drop to the butterflies and monted bot the circles and the butterflies with foam pads to raise them up a bit. Used some really old golden glitter sticker "lines" from Anitas to give a little more interest to the card and I was done, almost. At the last minute I decided to add some stickles to the butterflies and of course some glitter that I smeared out on the little flying creatures. I love the clean look that the card got and I love the fact that I dared myself to use stuff that I normally would have thrown away, and I made a card in a total different size than I normally do to. It's almost always my boys who uses this size of the card base.

So a fun card to make in all and I feel great using up all of those little pieces that I never would have used otherwise. And maybe most of all, it was great fun to use the Aquamarkers again. I am sure that it was about two years since I last used them. I think I will try to use them a little more. I just need to practise what colours to use for skintones before I get an image out in public again. LoL

Anything goes

Morning all you happy people! How are you doing? Hope your having a great week and that the sun is shining on you! Doing my best to cheer every one on here. LoL

It's midweek again and that means a new challenge over at the Paper Shelter and this time we are really going easy, and that has a reason. Stay tuned for that and have a look at the Paper Shelter blog on Friday. For now you have to enjoy our "anything goes" theme that will be on for the coming week.

Follow me regular you know that I have two sons with lots of friends and that means lots of boys cards. This is one in a long row of them. This was for a friend of my youngest son. I love these cheerful little guys that Veronica and Pedro draws. They are fun, charming and keep putting a smile on my face.

This image is called  Extreme! He is coloured with my Letraset markers and paired up with some great designer papers from Echo Park. What would I do without that brand when it comes to boy's cards. Always fun and cheerful they are. I have use one of the recent sketches from Papertake Weekly as just love them. They are really made for use over and over again. No extra embellishments here just die cut star with the birthday boy's age on it. It doesn't need more, and well I wasn't really in decorating mood either. LoL

I hope to see you come and join us and see what the rest of the gals has been up to. There is some great inspiration for you all to have a look at.

Love n hugs
