DT call over at the Paper Shelter

This will stay on top until the 20th of February

Hi every one! Just a little posting about the DT call we are holding over at the Paper Shelter until 20th of February. Please drop by, take a look maybe even apply for the team if you feel that it would be something for you. This is a part of what we have up on the TPS blog.

"Hi dear fans of the Paper Shelter, friends and crafters! It's time for a new design team call here at the "Shelter". Our term is coming to and end and sadly a few of our members are leaving. So lucky for all of you out there we, we are looking for 8 new designers to join our teams.

The DT call will run from today, 10th of February till 20th of February. So you will have 10 days to apply to the team. One entry per applicants only. We will find our way around your blog. Also please write DT after your application. Last time there was a lot of you entering our challenges in the call and it took a lot of time to sort that out.

Note that we will NOT accept any stamped images
in our DT call.
We are a digital company and want to see what you can do with your digital images and papers. (It's not necessary to use digital papers in the call, only digital image). Of course we'll be looking at your creations with stamped images as well, but we want a short cut to the digital ones. LoL

Our new term starts of 6th of March and will last for at least 6 months. If you are one of the chosen ones and make the team you are more than welcome to stay on the team after that as well. You are of course required to be able to start working with us right away. As the first challenge for the new B-team will start 6th of March. The A-team will have their first challenge 13th of March.

We are looking forward to see your entries for our DT call, please tell your friends about the call on your blog, and please do take part in our look out for new members and friends.

Love and crafting hugs
Marie"

Celebrations!

Morning all you happy people and the rest! Hope you're doing fine. We are still fighting the flu here at my place. But that's all I'm going to say about it, if I ignore it, it might go away. LoL Spent the morning at the Doctor's office. Found out that I have double sided Ear infection. A torn eardrum is also added. My ear has been "leaking" since yesterday and since it's a bit bloody. I had to go. Now I'm just waiting to get some meds as well. Then I might get well again, but for now I hear nothing. A bit creapy. LoL

So today is a BIG day! What? Do you say. What is so special about today? Well, I am sure the sun is shining somewhere, not here but somewhere and it making someone happy about that. And there is probably tons of other reasons this day is special. But for me this day is really special because today are we celebrating the 100 challenge over at the Paper Shelter.

I've been with the Shelter since it started up thanks to Veronica and Pedro over at the Shelter. The most wonderful bosses! Also thanks to Donna from Bearly Mine Designs who took me with her to the Shelter from the start. And of course a big thank you to Shirley who I work with both on the Paper Shelter teams and the Bearly Mine teams. What a team we are! Still after more than two years I am having a blast, and that has everything to do with wonderful people, stunning images and designer papers. I am still in heaven. So the BIGGEST of HAPPY 100 CHALLENGES to the Paper Shelter! Cheers to (at least) a 100 more!

So to celebrate this big event we have set the theme of CELEBRATIONS! It might be birthdays, weddings etc. You go for it, just make sure that we understand what the celebrations is all about, ok?

As I have been totally knocked out by the flu almost the whole last week my card creations this week might not be in the same standard as they use to. I am so hoping to get rid of all these illness soon. I never long for spring but at this time I do. I want to open the doors, get the whole house a really hard going clean. I hate spring! I have a few things that I am terrified of and one of them is thunder and thunder storms. Guest what starts in spring? Besides that I have tons of pain during spring so I don't like it because of that either. LoL I better stop talking here...

My card. I have used the sweet image called "Patissier in Distress" coloured here with my normal Letraset family and a dash of prisma pens. The designer papers are from two different pads from First Edition Papers. Flowers are a mix from WOC and Magnolia. Ribbon from Mollys. Gemstones from Magnolia as well.

To make this challenge a bit super extra special we have a different prize for you this week. Our first thought was " hey let's give away a $100 gift certificate to one player", but no that didn't feel right even if the thought was fun. So instead we are offering 5 gift cerificates worth $20 each and that also give us a 100 even, but more winners! And this time only, it doesn't matter if you are playing with a TPS image or not. Everyone has the chance of winning the $20 vouchers. How great isn't that? So if you help us celebrate our 100 challenge we give you a chance of getting one of our five pressies. Cool right?

Love n hugs
Marie (who one day will start this blog with saying, "I feel great today")

Ps: You still have a couple of hours to enter or DT call if you're interested.

Another one from the infirmary

Morning folks! Hope you're doing way much better than me and my family. All four of us are now having fever and finding life great. But hey! There will be better days for us as well I hope. This is the 5th day with fever for me but at least it's going down. I'm more worried about the youngsters, I am so hoping that they won't get it as bad as me and Mats. Tons of popsicle is the recipe to cool them down here. Get some energy from it and fluids as well. :)

Oh well, I did make a card for our new fun challenge over at the Bearly Mine Challenges which this week is "Ribbon/ lace/twine". You need to use at least one of these items on your card to be able to take part in this weeks challenge. Not a very hard one right? :)

I like the most members of the team has used a Fred She Said image on their creations this week and my teamies has done some wonderful job. I kind of doesn't want to show mine as I am not too pleased with it. I love the image from FSS, and I really wanted to make it more justice but nothing has been working around here. Still being behind after last sick period with the kids, I didn't have much time for my card. Neither did I know that I would be knocked out by fever. I didn't even managed to get a reasonably picture take of the whole thing.

On the positive side, I got a card together and that's wonderful and then you can also see and realize what a smashing work my teamies has done! That is what I call the bright side of life! LoL Talking of bright so is my card IRL, my brain and the weather has not been very cooperative so this mess is what I ended up with.

Ok, let's see. The lovely blooming image is from Fred She Said and the wall in the lower part is from Magnolia. In their (FSS) version they have a lovely cracked wall, but I wanted to be a little different. I have done some extra cutting again and raised the flowers over the wall and then one more of the flowers. I had more of them prepared but lost them somewhere between here and the basement. The lady bugs are all covered with glossy accent for the perfect "buggy" look. They are really shiny when you look at the real deal during the summer. One of my kids pointed that out to me last summer, so he was very happy to see the sleek bugs. :)

For decorations I have used a bunch (can you call three a bunch?) of buttons, lace on the side of the wonderful green Dotty designer paper (Dots). I have also made my own "lace" using MS punch that goes the other way. The card was drowning when I put the real lace on there too. LoL After adding a big of the same green coloured paper to the white MS lace I got some ribbon around there which is looking a bit odd her on the picture. Also tied a ribbon bow and got a big funky daisy to hang from it. The blue designer paper is from  the digi set that is called Spring Blossoms.

I leave you with this and hope that I soon will be able to tell you that life is all sunshine again!

Love n hugs
Marie

Good afternoon

Hi there! Sorry for the lack of posting over here the last couple of weeks. I have been down with a terrible flu that I don't even wish on my worst enemy. I am still not tip top or free of fever but it's so much better than laying in bed with 40 degrees (C) of it. It's down 2 degrees and the splitting heading is still here, but I am on the right track. More than I can say for the rest of the family who has also gotten it now. Anyway, I feel I can't sit up for that long so I better get on with it.

We have a new challenge up over at Crafty Card Makers for you this week and the new challenge is hosted, well by me! I have chosen the theme of "blooming images". That means we want to see your flowers as your central piece of your card. No people, no landscapes, no plants. Just the flowers. I do love my flowers and had a totally different card in mind for this challenge I must say. I had planed to colour and all that fun part for this card but as we/I have been sick so much the last two months I had to do a quicky version of it all. It's so good to have back up supplies from time to time. LoL

Panduro and the Tilda range has two new pads out and I have used the once called Country Escape for my card. If you like a little vintage and some lovely pink, turquoise and creamy colours this is a pad for you. I find it one of their best ever. As there is three pages of everything including the die cut sheets I did a little decopage of my image. Some cutting and that gave me some hight to the card and little life to the image.

For decoration is some more die cuts used as well as pearls, lace, flowers from WOC, a swirl from Prima and some glitter glue from Rangers.

Sponsoring this challenge is Crafts and Me with three digis from their store and a mystery donor is giving away a fabby die set. See more info about this on our challenge blog. I hope you come and join us in this challenge.

A new week

Hi! Hope you're feeling better than me. Spitting headache so sitting here in the dark writing and trying not to feel stressed. Even took a bath that was so hot that I might be boiled by now. Early bed and hopefully it's gone tomorrow. It feels like a bad hangover or something, but the only thing I have taken is a pain killer the other day that totally knocked me out. Will not happen for a long time now. :)

So this week over at Passion for Promarkers they have the lovely challenge of "boys and their toys". I really wanted to join in that challenge. Coloured up and image but it didn't get any further than that. So I took a look in my file with unpublished cards and lucky for me I found a card that I made late last year and have not published yet. Some times you can get lucky, but now it's almost only Christmas cards left in that file. LoL

The image is from LOTV. Still my fave company for boy's images. They are just adorable. Of course it's coloured with my Letraset family. The designer papers are from My Mind's Eye maybe... It was quite a while since I made the card. Just a sentiment saying Happy Birthday in Swedish and a die cut border to add some decoration for the card. In the corners some card candi.

Creative moments

I really have had that this time, creative moments I mean This nothing I do every day, well to be honest I have never made one before. A few months back I was setting the challenges for my team over at the Paper Shelter and I must have been in a bad mood, as I sat the challenge "Alter something". So that's the challenge this week over at the Paper Shelter, however, I started to feel bad about the hard challenge but I still wanted it to be a "real" challenge, so I added "or a card with at least three (3) folds". It seems to be a little easier, but my own skills when it comes to complicated folds of card is non, so I stuck to the altering part.

First of all, sorry for the bad pictures, it seems to be impossible for me to take good picture of this. But I have plenty of them, so take all of them and use your imagination and put one picture in your head. LoLThis is what I made. A wine bottle holder to put on your table when having guest or as a gift to someone you're visiting. I loved making this and has already started to think about how I can adapt it for different bottles and jars. Perfect gifts for kids teachers, well, maybe not a wine bottle but something else. Maybe a luxury olive oil or something like that. Future will tell. Sorry, I'm going of the road again. Feeling a bit chatty and a little nervous I guess. Don't know why, it just is like that.

So where is your image you ask, after all the Paper Shelter is known for their digital images. The truth is that I have not used one for this project. Instead I have used one of the paper packs that also is provided by the Paper Shelter. This one is called Victorian Beauty. There is also an image called the same thing matching this paper pack perfectly. The set is in rich wonderful colours that feels really romantic.

After a lot of folding and cutting and gluing everything together. I kind of waited a day to let it all settle so I could see that it was good enough to use and then I started my decoration spree. First adding a lace to the bottom of the holder, and then a full row of roses over that and some leaves here and there. Then I thought it all looked to pale so raiding my flower stash I found some stunning really dark red roses model small and then it got together a lot better.

Then my friends, I left the whole thing for weeks as I wasn't too happy about it and then suddenly it's time to have the project ready! Ops! Well, some fancy oval comes to rescue with a little saying printed from the computer "Two things get better with time, a good wine and friendship". Some antique linen distress ink and then glue it to the holder. A few swirls from Prima in the ends of the tag some more flowers to match it all up.

Finally finished! Not really, it felt a bit naked on the top. Found some pearl string laying around from my Vintage love card, posted Monday. And the brilliant idea of gluing that to the top of the holder was born. I am sooo pleased with how that turned out. Not much but the perfect detail. And then I made some kind of decoration with some matching flowers to put around the neck of the bottle. It's not very practical as you have to remove it while poring but it looks nice.

Ok, I better stop now. Just one more thing, I have not come up with the pattern of this holder. I found some inspiration from here, and then adjusted it to suit me. I hope you take the time to play with us over at the Paper Shelter this week even if the challenge is, well a bit of a challenge with the theme of  "Alter something, or make a card with at least three folds". I am really looking forward to see what you come up with. And I think I need to have a challenge like this again, around December or something like that when people need special gifts for family and friends. LoL But maybe you can make something for Valentines day?

As always we have our gift voucher up for grabs worth $30 if you play with the TPS brand, otherwise you have the chance of winning three digis of your choice. That's nice too. Do take a look at Veronica's lovely paper packs as they are truly amazing and worth a lot more attention than the get.

Oh, and there will be a DT call going up on Sunday for those of you that are interested. Take the chance to become one of our team members!

I see you around!

Love n hugs
Marie

A new lovely image

Hi there! It's busy week here at Kompis-kort. Second posting in two days and this week has been a struggle to get everything done in time. Two sick kids, myself getting the b-y bug again and feeling really heavy in my head. Oh well, it's still a fairly new year and I am still trying to meet what ever life brings with a smile. So not easy at this time, but it can only get better. Smiles!

I have messed this card up so many times during the colouring prosess. Nothing has worked out, and when it has, of course I have been there one too many times and had to throw it away. That's how good things goes right now. Anyway, after all that struggling I got a card together using the wonderful sketch over at CLP challenges for Februay. I so do love their sketches. Take a look if you haven't been around and play along. You always have a month to complete your card, so plenty of time. Sorry, went off the road here.

Back to my card. I have used Spring Mist and Rose's Dream to create this card in soft pastel colours. My Bildmålarna image (isn't she the cutest) is called Mimosa Gitarr. The text stamp used inside is also from Bildmålarna. All their new images are so lovely and cute. Love them. She is coloured with my normal Letraset family and a dash of Prisma pencils. I'm so happy my new blush arrived in the mail the other day so I could do my normal skin colouring. How addicted can you be to a single marker?

A set of a stamp and a die

Four digis of winner's choice

We have some lovely prizes to be won over at Bearly Mine Challenges as well this week. Marianne Designs and Meljen's is sponsoring us this time around. And our theme? It's Anything goes this week. So plenty of cards and other creations to look at I hope.

Time to go and finish off tomorrows creation for the Paper Shelter, and there we have a little harder challenge. Drop by tomorrow to find out!

Vintage love

Hi there and welcome to a new week. This week is another one filled with meetings and other "fun" stuff but I get by. For a change feeling quite all right but tired. It might come with the time of the year or and that tiredness is a part of at least to of my illnesses. Just trying to live with it, and I will learn, some day. :)

This week we have a new challenge up for you all over at the Crafty Card Makers. With Valentine's day coming we thought it was nice to have some "vintage love" as our theme. How fun is that? I didn't thought that I would be able to cope with this challenge as it is not my style, but hey! I might change my mind. I love it when I get challenged and this really was. I had last week planed for making up some card for coming challenges but my youngest got sick again, so everything ended up being made in the last minute. At least all the cards and creations for this week is made.

Most of the time I colour my images with my dear markers from Letraset, but this time I switched over to my distress inks. I normally use them to colour my Magnolias, at least every now and then. It was a long time since last so it was fun. I have kind of drowned the card in decorations and embellishments, just because it was fun. Maybe the card is more vintage/shabby chick than vintage, I don't know. But this is how I interpreted the theme. At least the image is vintage. LoL Flowers that are distressed with vintage photo and some heavy gesso, pearl string, glass stamen, chees cloth, vail cloth, metal corner that I coloured white with gesso. You name it and you'll find it on this card.
Sponsors then. This week we are suppored by the lovely people over at DI'S DIGI DOWNLOADS  and also by HOBBY ART. Check the challenge blog for more details.

Well, that should be it for today. Hope to see you spreading some love and come and join us over at the Crafty Card Makers challenge blog.

Love n hugs
Marie
