First of all, sorry for the bad pictures, it seems to be impossible for me to take good picture of this. But I have plenty of them, so take all of them and use your imagination and put one picture in your head. LoLThis is what I made. A wine bottle holder to put on your table when having guest or as a gift to someone you're visiting. I loved making this and has already started to think about how I can adapt it for different bottles and jars. Perfect gifts for kids teachers, well, maybe not a wine bottle but something else. Maybe a luxury olive oil or something like that. Future will tell. Sorry, I'm going of the road again. Feeling a bit chatty and a little nervous I guess. Don't know why, it just is like that.
After a lot of folding and cutting and gluing everything together. I kind of waited a day to let it all settle so I could see that it was good enough to use and then I started my decoration spree. First adding a lace to the bottom of the holder, and then a full row of roses over that and some leaves here and there. Then I thought it all looked to pale so raiding my flower stash I found some stunning really dark red roses model small and then it got together a lot better.
Finally finished! Not really, it felt a bit naked on the top. Found some pearl string laying around from my Vintage love card, posted Monday. And the brilliant idea of gluing that to the top of the holder was born. I am sooo pleased with how that turned out. Not much but the perfect detail. And then I made some kind of decoration with some matching flowers to put around the neck of the bottle. It's not very practical as you have to remove it while poring but it looks nice.
Ok, I better stop now. Just one more thing, I have not come up with the pattern of this holder. I found some inspiration from here, and then adjusted it to suit me. I hope you take the time to play with us over at the Paper Shelter this week even if the challenge is, well a bit of a challenge with the theme of "Alter something, or make a card with at least three folds". I am really looking forward to see what you come up with. And I think I need to have a challenge like this again, around December or something like that when people need special gifts for family and friends. LoL But maybe you can make something for Valentines day?
As always we have our gift voucher up for grabs worth $30 if you play with the TPS brand, otherwise you have the chance of winning three digis of your choice. That's nice too. Do take a look at Veronica's lovely paper packs as they are truly amazing and worth a lot more attention than the get.
Oh, and there will be a DT call going up on Sunday for those of you that are interested. Take the chance to become one of our team members!
I see you around!
Love n hugs
Marie
