Butterfly kisses

Morning and welcome back to a new slow week here at my blog. The time is so limited at the moment and I am happy each time I manage to get a card done. On top of that I have turned my crafting room up side down and is trying to get a better use of this small room. That means new shelfing in the closets. and since I have to make them on my own, it take so much more time. I can't do very much as I have (always as it seems) nowdays pain in my left shoulder and neck. At least it is a little better since I got the injection a few weeks ago.

Ever since I was a kid I have loved pens, paper, colouring mediums and all things in between that. And I still do enjoy it alot. Which means I have so many different kind colouring mediums that a few gets forgotten. Like my Aquamarkers from Letraset for example. I was sitting the other day trying them and see if they had dried out on me and if they had not decided if I should keep them or not. Only one had dried out and since it was quite nice playing with them, they are staying. And since I felt that I didn't want to throw away all of that expensive paper I for some reason used to try the markers on, I decided to use the scribble scrabble for my card today.

Now, it is a really simple card and totally different from all my cute images that I use almost all the time, I am not sure what I think of this card. At least i think it's a card for a grown up. LoL A really good thing about is that I use only left overs too. I should do that more often.

Anyway, I took my very colourful water colour paper and used one of my butterfly dies and made the base layer with it, and then cut some more butterflies with the matching detailing die. I used a few die cut circles as a back drop to the butterflies and monted bot the circles and the butterflies with foam pads to raise them up a bit. Used some really old golden glitter sticker "lines" from Anitas to give a little more interest to the card and I was done, almost. At the last minute I decided to add some stickles to the butterflies and of course some glitter that I smeared out on the little flying creatures. I love the clean look that the card got and I love the fact that I dared myself to use stuff that I normally would have thrown away, and I made a card in a total different size than I normally do to. It's almost always my boys who uses this size of the card base.

So a fun card to make in all and I feel great using up all of those little pieces that I never would have used otherwise. And maybe most of all, it was great fun to use the Aquamarkers again. I am sure that it was about two years since I last used them. I think I will try to use them a little more. I just need to practise what colours to use for skintones before I get an image out in public again. LoL

Morning, Marie! Hope the sun is shining for you today - we're enjoying beautiful blue skies at the moment, a real change from the persistent torrential rain we were having! Hope your shoulder eases soon and good luck with the craft room re-organise (it always gets 10 times worse before it starts to look better!)
